Earlier in the week, a cheque of TOP$5000 was donated towards the Ha'apai Cyclone recovery efforts from the public enterprise, Ports Authority Tonga.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ports Authority Tonga Mr. Steve Edwards handed-over the PAT's contribution to the Hon. Lupepau'u Tuita Taione, Patron of the Ha'apai Veu Relief Fund Committee.

According to Mr Siaosi Sovaleni, he said the radiothon by the Ha'apai Veu Relief Fund Committee was an incredible success.

In just over 3 hours we raised over 50K, another hour passed and the amount was over 60K. By the end of our air time we had raised 70K with some departments having emergency meetings to make a donation.

All fundraising for Ha'apai will go to the account at the Ministry of Finance.
