23 Sept. 2015 | The MS Dawn Princess, becoming a frequent visitor to the Kingdom, makes another port call at Vuna Wharf today, its favourite South Pacific destination.
The Princess’s last visit was in June, and this month’s roundtrip was received by Tongan hospitality and warmth on this tropical winter season in the Kingdom, by Brass Band music played by the Tonga Police Band and treated to cultural entertainment and boutiques of souvenirs and gift shops setup on the wharf.
Today, Dawn Princess arrived Nuku'alofa with 1,953 passengers and 856 Crews. Passenger was departure Sydney on 18th Sept. 2015 and arrive Nuku’alofa 23 Sept. 2015, next port will be Apia on 25 Sept. 2015 for a 37 days trip Apia, than Honolulu, Lahaina, Kona, Nawiliwili, Hilo, Moorea, Papeete for two days , than Borabora, Pagopago, Suva, Isle of Pines than finally arrive to Sydney on 23rd Oct. 2015.
Dawn Princess gross tonnage- 77441, deadweight- 8293 t, length × breadth: 262m × 33m and was built in1994, and the flag of Bermuda(MB) flying on the top deck on arrival.
Ports Authority’s continues to playing a leading role in the development of the tourism industry with long-term projects in the pipeline to develop and expand the wharf facilities. The wharf has also seen an upgrade in the past two months with the construction of LED-lights and a new pilot boat.
